Bookulus ("we") operates bookulus.kids and is the controller of the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, contact us at the address at the bottom of this page.

You upload a photo so the story's hero can look like your child.

The photo is used once, to generate a stylised cartoon character (the "hero reference"). The original photograph is deleted from our storage immediately after that character is created — we do not keep it.

The photo is never public: it is held in a private, closed bucket, reachable only through a temporary link that expires within minutes, and deleted as soon as the character has been created. An automated sweep additionally removes any photo left behind by an interrupted run.

The cartoon character and the generated illustrations are stored so your book can be viewed, reprinted and downloaded.

We never use children's photographs to train AI models, and we never sell or share them for advertising.

If you use the personalized story feature, you may tell us about your child's strengths, fears, dreams and significant life events.

These answers are used only to write the story, during that single request. They are not stored in our database.

What we keep is the finished children's story itself. Sensitive topics are never depicted literally; they only shape a gentle, reassuring tone.

Account: your email address, so you can sign in and find your books.

Order and delivery details: name, phone, address and notes you provide when purchasing a printed book.

Payments are processed by Flitt, a licensed payment provider. You enter your card details directly on their secure page — we never see or store your card number. Only the outcome of the payment and the order reference reach us.

We use a small number of processors to run the service: Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (hosting), fal.ai (image generation) and Anthropic via Vercel AI Gateway (story text). They process data only on our instructions.

We do not sell personal data.

Original photos: deleted the moment the character is created — within minutes — and never stored publicly.

Answers about your child: not stored at all.

Books, illustrations and order records: kept while your account exists, so you can access what you purchased.

You can ask us to delete your account and all associated books at any time.

You may request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.

Because our users are parents acting for their children, requests about a child's data should come from that child's parent or guardian.

Bookulus is intended for use by adults. Accounts are created by parents or guardians, who confirm that they have the authority to upload the child's photograph and details.
